I've always been hesitant to have kids in the US For me it's not even so much about not wanting "The Responsibility" (cue scary music). I do like children, and I generally talk to them like they're people instead of cute curiosities or cattle to be prodded. However, the US doesn't adequately take care of the children that are already alive, so I don't think I want to bring new ones into it. I suppose in an environment where I felt more socially aligned, I wouldn't 100% rule out the possibility, but here? Nope. I'm on a few other sites here, in case you're curious. I have some very liberal views about things that, frankly, most people in this society don't share, and it would be nice to find others who do share them.
